"Cigars are no longer just for the seasoned smoker.      They have become a staple in society for rookies and veterans alike,        representing an air of character, class and pleasure. Whether it's a          satisfying smoke after dinner, during a round of golf, or out at the          bar for drinks, cigars are the perfect complement to your lifestyle        because that is exactly what defines cigar smoking:      -- your lifestyle. Welcome to the good life!"

Cigar Review

The Bolivar Especiales is now discontinued and appeared when the Especiales No 1 were discontinued. Very rare and extremely difficult to find. Its taste can be defined as floral, grassy, earthy or nutty among other tasting notes. Between pre-1960 and circa 1970's, "Especiales" was a machine-made "unknown" 39 x 125 vitola. They were released and discontinued in the 1980's and were possibly a special production.

Bolivar cigars were introduced in 1901 as a pre-revolution Cuban cigar brand and registered as a trademark in 1927 by the Spanish industrialist Jose F. Rocha. The name comes from Simon Bolivar (1783-1830), the celebrated Venezuelan warrior who liberated all or part of what is today Venezuela, Columbia, Peru and Bolivia.

Bolivar is a Habanos Multi-Local cigar brand with a minor market share and there is also a non-Cuban cigar brand of the same name.

The Bolivar cigar range is known for cigars with full strength, using tobacco from the premium Vuelta Abajo (Pinar del Rio) region in Cuba.
