Ramón Cifuentes created this Cuban cigar brand in the year 1928. Cifuentes was the owner of the Partagas factory before the Revolution in Cuba.

During the Cuban revolution the production of the Cifuentes cigars was never interrupted, but after many years of litigation between the members of the Cifuentes family about the ownership of this Cuban cigar brand, the production of Cifuentes cigars was diminished to a very low amount and the brand was discontinued completely in the 1990's.
