"Cigars are no longer just for the seasoned smoker.      They have become a staple in society for rookies and veterans alike,        representing an air of character, class and pleasure. Whether it's a          satisfying smoke after dinner, during a round of golf, or out at the          bar for drinks, cigars are the perfect complement to your lifestyle        because that is exactly what defines cigar smoking:      -- your lifestyle. Rafael Gonzalez Marquez cigars represent a success story from the roaring 20's. Dating from approximately 1928, this Cuban cigar brand was formally named La Flor de Marquez.

Rafael Gonzalez has it's trademark registration in 1936 by the Cuban cigar Sociedad El Rey del Mundo. Rafael Gonzalez Trademark records show that the current name dates from 1945.

These Cuban cigars are considered medium in body and tobacco is used from the Vuelta Abajo region in Cuba. The Rafael Gonzales cigar brand is also reputed to have introduced the Lonsdale cigar size, named in honour of Hugh Cecil Lowther, the Fifth Earl of Lonsdale.

Rafael Gonzalez cigars are a Habanos local cigar brand with a minor market share.
